Dispersed Camping

When it comes to dispersed camping, Anza Borrego is in a class by itself.  There are thousands of acres of land where people of all interests and abilities can camp – for free, without a permit, and even enjoy a camp fire.  My first night camping in Anza Borrego was in Blair Valley and I still remember eating dinner while watching one of the most amazing sunsets I’ve ever seen.  That evening I sat by the camp fire looking at constellations and reflecting on the serene beauty and solitude the desert offers.  For me, camping in Anza Borrego provides an unmatched freedom that revives my spirit.  I loved camping in Anza Borrego so much that I moved to Borrego, and even though I have a bed in town with a roof over my head, I still enjoy camping every opportunity I can.
