Fonts Point

Fonts Point is one of the most breathtaking places to visit in Southern California. This one of a kind vista brings unparalleled views of the Borrego Badlands in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. The mountains, canyons, and crevices seen here formed over millions of years of deposition, uplift, and erosion, and look spectacular against the shifting sunlight.
The 4-mile route to the Fonts Point parking area is not well marked, but following tire tracks and the hard packed sand should lead you in the right direction. Eventually, as the road gets narrower, you will meet a fork on the right. Keep left at the fork as that is the road where cars will exit the parking lot from. Continue straight until you reach the parking lot. The view point is straight ahead up a short incline.
The road to access Fonts Point is 4WD accessible only. Road conditions change year round due to traffic, drought, and occasional rain. Be sure to check road conditions on the park website ahead of your trip, as cell phone service is extremely limited in this area.
