Kenyon Overlook Trail Loop

What do you get if you combine easy hiking, with amazing views, and a short drive?  Kenyon Overlook trail!  Conveniently located atop Yaqui pass it is a 15 minute drive from Christmas Circle and even more conveniently located for those staying at La Casa Del Zorro or Rams Hill.  And if you are coming or going to Borrego via Banner grade (Julian),  Kenyon Overlook makes for the perfect road side stop to stretch your legs.  Parking is available on the east side of S3 either at the ABDSP primitive camping area, which looks like a large parking lot, or directly off the road at the 'William Kenyon' sign.  From the road side sign, enjoy a quarter mile walk to the overlook and a 1 mile loop through the area.  The over look offers sweeping views of the Mescal Bajada and Mine Wash.  Additional trails lead in various directions including a great hike down to Tamarask Grove.
